Regarding
Blinds Chicago and Installation and Repair of Chicago Blinds:
We
have "Chicago Blinds" through out our townhouse for 13 years,
but now have some blinds questions about the master bedroom which
overlooks downtown chicago. Our master bedroom has an arch window.
We never covered it with blinds like the others. We put mini wood
blinds on windows below it, a topper matching our bedding goes over
that. Unfortunately, the sun has faded some of our bedding. I was
thinking that if our old bed linens are salvageable, we could make
a window treatment out of it. Any suggestions on how to make one?
If we decide to have one made in off-white to match the blinds, should
it be made of wood like the blinds? Are there any places that have
arch treatments made up already? We don't want to spend a lot of money
on this.
ANSWER:
I had grown tired of the black vinyl vertical blinds that were here
when I purchased the home three years ago.
I was fortunate to find insulated/lined curtains/drapes (solid color)
in my kitchen's color scheme. To the bottom of the drapes, I sewed
a fabric border . The drapes are hung on the outer curtain road using
metal round hooks/rings, so that they slide more easily.
It turned out beautifully, and I've received a number of compliments
from visitors about my "custom" blinds here in Chicago
By the way... Tuesday Morning in Chicago can be a treasure chest for
finding nice blinds/drapes/curtains when they have a 50% off sale
from time to time.
